CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION
In full development and specialized in participative financing campaigns, we are looking for an experienced CFO capable of managing financial systems and ensuring the company’s financial equilibrium.POSITION DESCRIPTION
In charge of monitoring financial flows and drawing up various financial reports, the CFO will often work in tandem with the CEO and the project manager associated with the various campaigns. They will oversee cash management, investments and budgeting, and contribute to the company’s financial strategy and recruitment needs. Given the small size of the company (2 associates, 1 employee, 7-8 freelancers plus some associates) and the multi-disciplinary nature of the publishing sector, the CFO will also be responsible for monitoring operations whose financial aspects are crucial to the company in 3 areas:- International localization and distribution of our games (in conjunction with our localization agent at MOB Vanguard).
- Production of our games (carried out by Panda Game Manufacturing, based in China).
- Logistics operations (handled by Naylor games).
FUNCTION OBJECTIVES
- Assume overall responsibility for cash management, investments, budgeting and financial reporting, and contribute to a sound financial strategy and the company’s recruitment needs.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual operating, capital and project budgets, as well as the corresponding reporting for the current year and forecasts.
- Ensure that cash flows are consistent with operations by overseeing the organization’s day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting and internal control activities.
- Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project coordination and cross-team communication.
- Comply with national and international financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
- Manage and monitor game localization contracts (drawn up by MOB Vanguard) and game designer and illustrator copyright contracts (drawn up by Blondieau Robert-Gary).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with team members to effectively develop budget proposals, provide access to project financial information and ensure contract compliance and reporting.
- Research development opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Manage risk by analyzing company commitments and investments, with a view to growth and continuous improvement, and therefore comfortable managing change.
- Oversee human resources operations, coordinating with external service providers (e.g. payroll, benefits, recruitment).
- Monitor company performance using tracking tools, implement corrective measures where necessary, and prepare detailed reports for results calls and the management team.
- Act as the main contact for the chartered accountant (In Futurum Expertise), the localization agent (MOB Vanguard) and the law firm (Cabinet Blondieau Robert-Gary).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues and tax planning.
- Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills, strong determination and personal integrity.
- Excellent command of related software and financial reporting.
- Perfect command of English (reading, writing and speaking).
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Five or more years’ experience in general management functions.
- Master’sdegree(orequivalentexperience)inaccounting,corporateaccountingorfinance.
- Experience in the gaming industry and/or passion for board games.
- Experience in international finance.
- Executive experience of SAS business models and associated revenue recognition.
- Ability to integrate into a team.
- Fluency in French (reading, writing and speaking).
CONTRACT AND ACQUISITION OF SHARES
- After a trial period of 6 months maximum (3 months renewable once), the employee will sign a permanent contract (CDI) of 35h/week.
- Gross salary will start around 40 k€, i.e. a net salary of 2.5 k€ per month.
- The position is full-time, but part-time work may be considered.
- Depending on integration into the structure and the team, the employee will be offered the opportunity to acquire shares in This Way!
